The one major problem, which many men and women suffer these days is none other than “obesity”. Even though there are many ways to help you shed those pounds out, today I am going to tell you how does apple cider vinegar help you lose weight. Read on.

How Does Apple Cider Vinegar Help With Weight Loss?

Talking about vinegar generally, it has been used since centuries for multiple purposes like killing weeds, polishing armors, making pickles, dressing salads and cleaning those coffee makers. However, in the recent years ACV (Apple Cider Vinegar) is been in controversies for a healthy weight loss. Though many benefits of vinegar are unproven, few have medical investigation backing them. Research has proved that ACV could assist with numerous health conditions even including obesity and diabetes. So, coming to your question, does apple cider vinegar help you lose weight? The answer is yes, of course. But there are certain things you need to know.

What Is ACV (Apple Cider Vinegar)?

The term “vinegar” comes from French, which means – “Sour Wine”. Vinegar is a result of fermentation. It is a method in which yeast and bacteria break the sugars in food. During the first fermentation stage, sugars will be turned to alcohol. When the alcohol ferments more, you obtain vinegar. ACV comes from crushed apples.
We have constantly been hearing tips on consuming apple cider vinegar to lose weight but there has never been exact study to support this claim until now. However, a recent study published in Journal of Functional Foods has found that sipping little ACV prior your meals helps you burn fat and even lowers down your blood pressure. During the research, participants who consumed 1-tablespoon apple cider vinegar combined with 8-ounces water before eating could effectively lower their high glucose levels than participants who did not consume this tart solution. The main ingredient of ACV is “Acetic acid”. It interferes with body’s capability to digest starch, claims Carol Johnston, associate director at School of Nutrition & Health Promotion in Arizona University.
Johnston furthers says that this starch-blocking power can greatly help you kick that fat out. When something interferes with starch digestion, lesser calories are broken down into the bloodstream. After some time, this may cause a slight effect on your weight. On the other hand, if you have problems like heartburn and indigestion (to the extreme), then consuming ACV might hurt.

1. Get It Right

You don’t really have to bound yourself to apple cider vinegar because all the vinegars include acetic acid. Check the label of vinegar bottle. If it says to include 5% acidity then it is good. And this percentage is something you will find on most cooking & salad vinegars. Don’t buy the ones that are used for pickles because they have high acid content.

2. Consume Very Little

Excess apple cider vinegar can easily harm your throat because the acetic acid proportion is higher. Just 1-tablespoon ACV combined in 8-ounces water is what you need to take before your meal. This is a safe proportion. Exceeding this limit might be dangerous to your health.

Risks Of Consuming Apple Cider Vinegar

It contains acetic acid. Consuming it directly can damage your mouth, tooth enamel & throat tissues
Prolonged use of ACV can cause low bone density and lower potassium levels. In case you suffer osteoporosis or low potassium, seek medical advice before using
Since vinegar has chromium, it easily alters insulin levels. If you happen to have diabetes, seek medical advice before consuming.
